My passion for photographing the wilderness landscape

Wolfgang Glowacki is a landscape photographer based in St Helens, North East Tasmania. He is passionate about the environment and has a strong connection to the beautiful Tasmanian wilderness. This shines through in all his work. Wolfgang has an unmistakeable talent for capturing the moods of nature in his own unique style. Wolfgang tends to photograph alone, completely immersing himself in the quest for the perfect image. Often camping out in freezing temperature, waking in the extremely early hours of the morning in order to set himself up to capture the perfect shot. He spends many months a year doing this, braving the array of Tasmanian elements to share with you the world as he sees it.

Wolfgangs photography have graced the pages of highly acclaimed publications such as The Australian Geographic, "Wild" magazine, 40 Degrees South and many more. He has also being published in calendars, books and advertising material. An acclaimed artist, Wolfgang is one of the most talented of his generation.

Artist Statement

My passion lies with all the elements of the natural world. Our earth in her raw form is what excites my artistic side. I love playing with macro photography; there is so much we miss by not looking at the detail of things. Once you start delving into the macro world you begin to look at everything just that little bit closer, and there is beauty everywhere. Landscape on a grand scale is another way I like to show what our Tasmanian wilderness has to offer and why it is so worth protecting. I hope that when people look through my photographs they are as inspired as I am to do what they can to protect our wilderness for future generations. So that the children of our children may walk through the old-growth forests in awe and not simply browse a book in a library showing them how it once was.
